What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in time is 4:00 PM and check-out time is 10:00 AM. Please note that these times are firm. Other guests will be arriving after your stay, and in order to properly clean and prepare the house for them, we ask that you adhere to the times set forth above so that all parties can enjoy The Fiddler Crab Cove House.

Are animals allowed in this home?
Our home is 100% animal-free. Our son has severe allergies to animal dander that cause extreme rashes on his entire body. For his safety, we NEVER allow animals at this property.

Is there a minimum age requirement to book this home?
Yes, the primary renter must be at least 28 YEARS OLD to rent this home and stay with the group throughout the entire rental period.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made in writing via postal mail or email by the RENTER only. If the cancellation is made more than 120 days prior to the ARRIVAL date, the non-refundable 50% deposit paid at the time of booking will be forfeited.  If the cancellation is made 120 days or less prior to the ARRIVAL date, the RENTER will be responsible for the total cost of the rental (except the security deposit and cleaning charges) unless the OWNER is able to find another RENTER, in which case the security deposit and a prorated rental cost based on the amount the home is re-rented for, is returned. Online Travel Agency (OTA) service fee refunds are at the discretion of the OTA, not the OWNER.

OWNER does NOT refund for any reason, including but not limited to, weather, transportation issues, health reasons, pandemics, acts of God, or emergencies. As a private Host/OWNER, we offer unique dates in a unique property, and highly recommend purchasing “cancel for any reason” travel insurance that covers travel related reservation and expense risks, including medical (including COVID) cancellations, lodging damages, and other cancellations and relocations. WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE RENTER TO PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE FOR UNFORESEEN CANCELLATIONS.

Do you recommend trip insurance?
We do recommend trip insurance. Information about trip insurance can be viewed here.

How does the refundable damage deposit work?
Two (2) days before your arrival, we will put a $1,000 temporary "hold" (not a charge) on the credit card provided. The hold is released from the card five (5) days after your departure, so long as there is no damage to the home. 

When is the pool open and heated?
The pool is open May 10 - September 30.  The pool is heated to 84-degrees at no additional cost for June - September.  May Pool heat is $50/night.. There is NO hot tub on property.

What is provided in this rental home?
We provide bed linens, shower towels, pool toys, beach chairs, and a starter pack of household items (dish soap, hand soap, dishwater pods, paper towels and toilet paper). We also provide a 2-in-1 shampoo + body wash in the bathrooms.  Guests should plan to bring their own beach towels, kitchen cooking essentials such as spices, beach gear, laundry detergent, toiletries, shampoo, conditioner, etc.

Does your home have wifi?
Yes, wifi is available in this home. Our wifi has a download speed of 400 mbps.

Am I allowed to have guests or host a party or event?
No parties or events are allowed at this property, and no more than 10 people are permitted on the property at any time.

Do you have a grill available to use?
Yes, a gas grill is available at our property. 

Is there a washer/dryer available?
Yes, laundry may be done using the washer and dryer located on the lower level of our home. 

What parking is available?
Parking is limited to 5 vehicles during your stay. No overnight street parking is allowed.

Is smoking allowed?
No smoking is allowed! Our property is smoke-free, including the home, wooden decks and pool area.

When are the enforced town quiet hours?
The Town of Mashpee enforces their quiet hours between 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

Do you offer motor boat rentals?
Guests may bring their own boat, or rent a boat from All Cape Boat Rentals. Rental boats can be delivered directly to our private dock.

Can we rent paddle boards, kayaks, and bicycles?
Yes, stand up paddle boards, additional kayaks (we provide 2 at the house), as well as bicycles can all be delivered to our home by RideAway Adventures.  Please contact them directly to arrange your delivery

Can we rent beach towels and other beach gear?
The house comes with white shower towels for indoor use only.  Guests must bring their own beach/pool towels or you may rent beach towels and other beach gear from Lobo Rentals.  

Do you provide infant gear?
While we do NOT have any infant gear at the house, you may rent cribs, high chairs and baby gates from Lobo Rentals.

What nearby beaches do you recommend?
We recommend the following three beach options:
1. South Cape Beach - Mashpee Town Pass (This pass must be purchased at least TWO WEEKS BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL)
A 5-minute drive from our home is the Mashpee Town Beach (located on a separate part of South Cape Beach). Day passes are NOT available, you must purchase a weekly pass at least two weeks before your arrival.  

2.  South Cape Beach - MA State Park Pass
A 5-minute drive from our home is South Cape Beach - The State Park side. Daily or weekly parking passes are available on site or in advance on the State's website.

3. The Spit (Little Thatcher Island)
Simply head out on your boat or our kayaks to Ockway Bay, go around the point and straight across Popponesset Bay to The Spit. Pull right up on shore for a secluded beach experience! This is actually a peninsula, and is accessible by a 1 mile walk from the house (no parking available).
